Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett discovered his lifelong partner in his hometown sweetheart, Amy Paternoster, and he decided to propose within just one year of being together. Pickett shared the heartwarming moment on Instagram in January 2022, captioning photos from the proposal with these heartfelt words: “Got tired of calling you my girlfriend… here’s to a lifetime with the person I cherish more than anything in the world. You make me a better person, and I cannot imagine life without you. I love you more, forever and always!”
Paternoster also expressed her joy and gratitude in an Instagram post, saying, “I am incredibly fortunate to have found such an ideal man and to have the privilege of knowing, loving, and building a life with you. You are my everything: my partner, my closest friend, my soulmate.”
In the subsequent year, the couple exchanged vows in their home state of New Jersey just before Kenny Pickett commenced his second NFL season in September 2023.
Kenny Pickett and Amy Paternoster both hail from the same small town along the Jersey Shore. They initially crossed paths as children while training at a local gym. However, their romantic journey didn’t commence until they were in college. Pickett pursued his football career at the University of Pittsburgh, while Paternoster joined the soccer team at Princeton University.
The couple reconnected during one of their college breaks but kept their budding romance private until spring 2021. Pickett hinted at their relationship with an Instagram post on April 6, captioning it, “Rumor has it.” Paternoster shared a similar image one day earlier, captioning her social media reveal with, “A little hey how ya doin.”
In January 2022, Kenny Pickett and Paternoster officially announced their engagement on Instagram. Paternoster captioned a series of photos from the romantic moment with heartfelt words: “When I think of my life, I think of you—because I will never be able to go a day without you. I cannot put into words the love I have for you, but I promise to show you every day for the rest of my life.”
When Kenny Pickett was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Paternoster was there to celebrate this significant milestone in his career. She expressed her pride and happiness via social media, writing, “Words cannot describe how proud I am of you, nor how happy I am to see all of your dreams come true. There is nobody more deserving of this! I can’t wait to see all of the amazing things you have yet to accomplish. Let’s go home!!! #steelernation #herewego.”
The couple exchanged vows on June 24 at the Pleasantdale Chateau in New Jersey.
Following their wedding, the newlyweds enjoyed their honeymoon in Puerto Rico, where they stayed at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Dorado Beach resort.
Just before Kenny Pickett took the field for the Pittsburgh Steelers in their season opener against the Buffalo Bills, the couple attended a Morgan Wallen concert. Paternoster shared cozy snapshots from the event on Instagram, and Pickett responded in the comments, saying, “Thanks for letting me fish whenever I want to.”
