HMD has introduced a new multi-brand strategy for its smartphones, while retaining the Nokia name for its feature phones. The Finnish company has recently unveiled three new handsets, all offering a modern twist on classic designs – the Nokia 6310 (2024), 5310 (2024), and 230 (2024).

The updated Nokia 6310 for 2024 comes with several new features. While retaining the essence of the 2021 version, HMD has equipped it with a larger 1,450 mAh battery and a USB-C port.

The rest of the specifications remain unchanged, including a VGA camera with flash at the rear, a 2.8-inch LCD display, a dual-SIM slot with stand-by capabilities for both cards, and an additional slot for microSD cards.

With the Nokia 5310 (2024), HMD has opted to maintain the overall design of the 2020 model but has increased its dimensions to accommodate a larger 1,450 mAh battery. The chipset has been upgraded to the Unisoc 6531F, departing from the Mediatek platform. The larger size also means a bigger 2.8-inch LCD display.

The 5310 model has always been associated with music, reminiscent of the classic 2007 XpressMusic edition. The play buttons are positioned on the right side, with volume keys on the left. Additionally, HMD has included a USB-C port at the bottom, while internal features such as 8/16 MB memory (with a microSD card slot), dual speakers, and FM radio remain unchanged.

Nokia 230 (2024)
Similar to its counterparts, the Nokia 230 (2024) maintains a familiar design but receives an upgrade in the battery department. The physical dimensions remain identical to the 2015 release, with the same 2.8-inch TFT display featuring 65K colors. The device also retains its 2 MP camera with LED flash on both the front and back panels.

The notable enhancements include the 1,450 mAh battery and the inclusion of a USB-C port. Bluetooth 5.0 support is facilitated by the Unisoc 6531F chipset, while other features such as the 3.5 mm audio jack and 8/16 MB memory remain unchanged.

HMD has not disclosed pricing information for these phones. It’s worth noting that all three models are limited to 2G connectivity, meaning they are not compatible with 3G or newer networks.
