Leading the pack is Steve Cohen, with a staggering net worth of $19.8 billion, placing him at the 97th spot on the global rankings. Cohen, the founder of hedge fund Point72 Asset Management, has witnessed a significant surge in wealth, surpassing last year’s figures by over $2 billion.

Previously associated with SAC Capital, which closed down due to insider trading allegations resulting in a hefty $1.8 billion fine, Cohen made headlines by acquiring the New York Mets in 2020. Notably, he has also contributed $1 billion towards various philanthropic endeavors.

The other billionaire hailing from Connecticut is Ray Dalio, aged 74, known for founding Bridgewater Associates. Despite his impressive wealth of $15.4 billion, securing him the 124th spot on the global list, Dalio experienced a decline in net worth over the past year, losing nearly $3 billion. Having retired from Bridgewater Associates in 2022, Dalio’s philanthropic efforts have seen him donate $1 billion towards charitable causes.
